An Exciting Adventure and Legacy Builder

As a member of the board, you are joining us on our mission. You’re stepping into a leadership role to guide the direction of where we are going and helping us grow to get there!

Unlike bigger nonprofits that are very established (where you might have little influence in the big picture), Love Not Lost is malleable clay that you get to shape and leave your mark on. We’re launching new tools, innovating events and fundraising efforts, growing our programs, diving into strategy and development, and so much more as we actively expand to a national level.

The board's purpose is to invest time, talent, and treasure to help Love Not Lost fulfill its mission and support the Executive Director (listen to her story on BBC here).

What Are The Terms?

We are an active board, meeting virtually quarterly (currently at noon on the first Friday of the month) and collaborating asynchronously through tools like Slack and Asana to meet goals.

A board term is 2 years of service with the ability to serve a second term or move into an advisory role if you don’t want to roll off completely.

We expect all board members to leverage their resources to further the mission of Love Not Lost, which can include time, skills, money, connections, etc.

Who’s On The Team?

We are a growing board with some truly incredible people: our current team is listed on the Board of Directors page which we’ll be updating as new members join.

Who Are You Looking For?

We are always looking for heart-led humans who are excited to create a better future with us and also have the willingness to raise funds and expand our network. We are seeking leaders who can represent the communities we serve and bring unique perspectives that help us all learn and grow. We have specific key areas that will round out our board over the next two years, here are just a few:

  • Financial Leadership

  • Human Resources

  • Death & Dying Services (death doulas, funeral, cremation, burial, etc.)

  • Grief/Trauma Psychology (both academic and practicing)

  • Corporate Development and Leadership

  • Marketing Leader

  • Business Leaders or Entrepreneurs (success and experience with scaling nationally/globally desired)
